The generosity of Elvis knew few boundaries.

The proceeds from the concerts he performed in Tupelo purchased his birthplace home and the land surrounding it. A fund was also established for a center to be built for the youth of East Tupelo.

This place is very special to me because I was one of the youth from East Tupelo who benefited from Elvis’ generosity.

This newsletter is the story of the youth center.

Elvis left Tupelo when he was 13.

He would come back to visit his friends.

In 1956 and 1957, he performed in Tupelo at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show. He was to become famous, and he never forgot his hometown.

Can you imagine what it was like to see Elvis in concert in Tupelo? We’ve talked to a few of the folks who attended one of the concerts for a first-hand account.

We are blessed with many visitors. While we have a lot of individuals who will come and spend time learning of the Innocence of Elvis, we also have many groups visit from special Elvis tours to school groups to choir groups. Many find the Elvis Presley Birthplace a much needed respite on a long journey.

We were excited to learn that the Bethel College Choir of North Newton, Kansas, would have one of their tour stops in Tupelo, and they planned to visit the Birthplace before their concert that evening.

We listen to our guests and fans.

We know that an online store has been on your wishlist as long as it has been on ours. We’ve stayed quiet about it because we wanted to get it just right. We have been looking at several systems to give you the ease of ordering that you need and for us to be able to fulfill your orders promptly.

We’re starting with a limited inventory of items to choose from. As of now, we’re only offering sales in the U.S. We want to make sure we do this right before we offer a large number of items or start shipping outside of the country.
