Fan Appreciation Day was on Saturday, August 10, and we had a wonderful time.
We unveiled a replica of a sign that used to be part of the Birthplace. You can watch the video of the unveiling below. We’ll also publish more about the Youth Center in a future newsletter.
Elvis Tribute Artists Nick Armstrong and Nick Perkins awed fans with their incredible talent.
Sam Bell’s granddaughter Janeau Bell was with us to share her stories about him.
Elvis left Tupelo when he was 13.
He would come back to visit his friends.
In 1956 and 1957, he performed in Tupelo at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show. He was to become famous, and he never forgot his hometown.
Can you imagine what it was like to see Elvis in concert in Tupelo? We’ve talked to a few of the folks who attended one of the concerts for a first-hand account.
Fan Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, August 10. Please make plans to join us that day. We’ve planned to have Elvis Tribute Artists Nick Armstrong and Nick Perkins perform. We’ll have other live entertainment and food venues. It’s a great day at the Birthplace, so mark your calendars now!
Do you have summer travel plans? Will you be near the Birthplace? Stop by. We’d love to see you. If you’ve not been here since last year, we’ve added a koi pond and expanded the parking up the hill for easier access to “Becoming.”

The second of our quarterly concert series was held on Saturday, May 4.
Elvis Tribute Artist Nick Perkins performed. Nick recreated the May 4, 1976, Lake Tahoe concert. The event was well attended. We even had some visitors from Iceland in the audience. We were glad to see so many fans.
We have more concerts coming up. We have a special concert for Fan Appreciation Day. Our next quarterly concert will be in September.
We are blessed with many visitors. While we have a lot of individuals who will come and spend time learning of the Innocence of Elvis, we also have many groups visit from special Elvis tours to school groups to choir groups. Many find the Elvis Presley Birthplace a much needed respite on a long journey.
We were excited to learn that the Bethel College Choir of North Newton, Kansas, would have one of their tour stops in Tupelo, and they planned to visit the Birthplace before their concert that evening.
We listen to our guests and fans.
We know that an online store has been on your wishlist as long as it has been on ours. We’ve stayed quiet about it because we wanted to get it just right. We have been looking at several systems to give you the ease of ordering that you need and for us to be able to fulfill your orders promptly.
We’re starting with a limited inventory of items to choose from. As of now, we’re only offering sales in the U.S. We want to make sure we do this right before we offer a large number of items or start shipping outside of the country.
January 8, 2024, marked the 89th birthday of Elvis Presley.
We celebrated in the event center of the Birthplace. Our special guest was Betty Harper who created a design for a T-shirt that was unveiled at the celebration.
Thank you, Betty, for your friendship and your talent.
To enhance your experience at the Birthplace, we’ve started a quarterly concert series.
Elvis Tribute Artist David Allen was our first concert held on Saturday, February 10. As you can see by the photographs below, we had a great time. Watch our social media channels and our newsletter for concert announcements. We’ll give information about the following event at the end of each concert.
